Methanol cracking(reforming) catalyst
catalyst is used in methanol cracking to H2 reaction or methanol with water reforming to H2.
The reaction equation is CH2OH → CO+2H2 CH2OH+H2O→ CO2+3H2.
1．Activity: in the condition of laboratory, 120ml reduced state catalyst worked in the 1.2h-1 space velocity;
the methanol conversion is showed in the table.
2. Heat up and reduce progress. Because it is hard to control the temperature,
catalyst is usually reduced below 0.5 Mpa.
3. Catalyst normal usage and protection way.
3.1 Fresh reduced catalyst should work in underload condition for several days in order to make the catalyst
activity and service life stabilization.
3.1.2 Fresh reduced catalyst should try its best to work in low temperature on the promise that the catalyst
can satisfy production requirement.
3.1.3 Refining methanol of raw material. Removing the impurity from methanol, especially sulphide and chloride,
can longer catalysts’ service life.(in the condition of S reaching in 0.25 PPM, or CL reaching 0.3PPM,
catalyst activity can cut down 50%)
3.1.4 Catalyst service life mainly depends on whether catalysts suffer from excess-temperature or local over-heating.
Avoiding these also can longer catalyst service life.
3.1.5 Many times Start-up and shutdown will also influence catalyst’s service life. So try to avoid it.
