RFS09 additive is a high efficiency environmental additive developed on integrated multiple technology platforms, which is aimed at reducing SOX emission from FCC flue gas. It is characterized in that RFS09 features its good sulfur picking ability. In regenerator SO2 from coke sulfur compound is captured, oxidized into SO3 and transformed into stable metal sulfates.

RFS09 additive also features its good regeneration performance. In riser the metal sulfates adsorbed on additive is reduced into sulfides which is prone to release sulfur as H2S. At this point the activity of RFS09 is recovered. It possesses similar physicochemical properties to those of cracking catalyst. There was not any negative effect on product yields and product quality when the additive is used in a proper concentration range. In a full combustion regenerator 70v% of SOx in flue gas can be removed when 2-3wt% of RFS09 is in the catalyst inventory.
